Dattatrey gavand shree dadaji. Subhash Kulkarni, who had known him for some time.
Dattatrey gavand shree dadaji [3] Jul 11, 2013 · I first heard of Dada Gavand from Shri. . com While Dattatreya’s exact historical origins are unclear and trace to inconsistent mythologies, His life stories are more consistent. Shri Dada Gavand was born as Dattatraya Madhavrao Gavand in Thane. He left home in search of truth at the age of 39 and stayed in a small hut, in solitude on Sajjangad, in Maharashtra. ] Pandurang Shastri Athavale (19 October 1920 – 25 October 2003), also known as Dada /Dadaji ("elder brother"), was an Indian activist, philosopher, spiritual leader, social revolutionary, [2] and religion reformist, who founded the Swadhyaya Parivar (Swadhyaya family) in 1954. He is described in the Mahabharata as an exceptional Rishi with extraordinary insights, capacities and knowledge. Daily worship typically includes offerings of flowers, incense, and food, alongside the recitation of sacred texts such as the Avadhuta Gita and the Shree Guru Charitra which narrate the life and teachings of Dattatreya. We, a small group of about 8 persons, were attending a Workshop at Krishnamurti Foundation's Sahyadri Study Centre. Subhash gave us a talk on Dada Gavand's philosophy and shared a few books. Shri Dada Gavand was not an advocate of conventional religion, or of any of the tried and tested paths to enlightenment. The images on this page are a contemporary image of Dattātreya at his sacred site in Girnar, Gujarat; a contemporary charcoal drawing of a Sadhu in Bali (© collection Mike Magee); line drawing of Dadaji and Śakti by Jan Bailey.
